Balance Model
An equation is a mathematical statement that tells us that two expressions are equal, just like a balance scale that shows both sides are the same weight. Imagine you have a scale with a box on one side and a pile of apples on the other. If you add one apple to the pile, you must also add one box to the other side to keep it balanced. This idea applies to equations too! Whatever operation we perform on one side of the equation, we must do the same to the other side to keep everything equal. This way, we can find the value of the unknown variable, making it easier to solve the equation and understand how different expressions relate to each other. By visualizing equations as balance scales, we can approach solving them with confidence and clarity.
