States of Matter

Matter is everything around us that has weight and takes up space. It can be found in three main forms, which we call states: solid, liquid, and gas. Each state of matter has unique characteristics that make it special. For instance, in solids, the tiny particles are packed tightly together, which gives solids a definite shape and volume. In liquids, the particles are still close but can move around each other, allowing liquids to flow and take the shape of their container. Finally, in gases, the particles are much more spread out and move freely, filling up any space available. Understanding these states helps us learn about the world around us and how different materials behave!
