Fleet Assessment Framework
Fleet electrification begins with a data-driven assessment of every vehicle in the fleet. The key data points are daily mileage (can the EV range cover the route?), dwell time at base (is there enough time to charge?), route predictability (fixed routes are easier to electrify), and vehicle utilization rate. Light-duty sedans and SUVs with predictable daily routes under 200 miles are the easiest to electrify. Medium-duty delivery vans with return-to-base routes are next. Heavy-duty long-haul trucks are the most challenging due to range, weight, and charging time constraints—these are typically the last vehicles electrified.
