EIA Report Structure
A professional EIA report follows a standard structure: Executive Summary (2-3 pages summarizing the project, key impacts, and recommended alternative), Project Description (detailed plans, phasing, and construction methods), Baseline Environment (existing conditions documentation with maps and data), Impact Assessment (systematic evaluation by environmental domain), Alternatives Analysis (comparison matrix of evaluated options), Mitigation Measures (specific commitments organized by hierarchy), Cumulative Impact Assessment, Stakeholder Engagement Summary and Response to Comments, Monitoring Plan, and Technical Appendices (survey data, model outputs, calculations). The report must be written clearly enough for non-technical decision-makers while maintaining scientific rigor. Figures, maps, and summary tables are essential for communicating complex information effectively.
