2D Point Tracking
2D tracking follows a feature point's position across frames, allowing you to attach elements to moving footage. Applications: placing a graphic on a moving screen (phone, TV, billboard), adding a tattoo that moves with a body, or stabilizing shaky footage. In After Effects, the Point Tracker analyzes a high-contrast feature (corner, mark, text) and generates position keyframes. For best results, track features with: high contrast (dark on light or vice versa), small size (tracks a local area, not a large region), and persistence (the feature must remain visible and undistorted throughout the shot). Place tracking markers (small cross-shaped tape pieces) on set for features that lack natural trackable detail.
