Tiny Cubs, Big Bears
Bear cubs are born INCREDIBLY tiny compared to their mothers! A grizzly bear mom weighs 400 pounds, but her newborn cubs weigh only about one pound β smaller than a squirrel! Cubs are born blind, toothless, and nearly hairless. They depend on their mother's warm body and rich milk to grow. Polar bear cubs are born in a snow den and are about the size of a guinea pig. Panda cubs are pink and hairless, weighing just 3 to 5 ounces β about the size of a stick of butter!
