The Mighty Howl
AWOOOOOO! Wolves are famous for howling, but they do NOT howl at the moon! They howl to communicate with pack members who are far away — a wolf's howl can be heard up to 10 miles away! Wolves howl to say Here I am! to their pack, to warn other packs Stay out of our territory!, and to gather the pack before a hunt. Each wolf has a unique howl, like a voice fingerprint. When a pack howls together, they harmonize — no two wolves howl on the same note!
