Drawing a Bird
Birds are fun to draw and they use lots of different shapes!
Step 1: Draw a small circle for the head.
Step 2: Draw a bigger oval below and slightly behind the head for the body. The body should overlap the head a little bit.
Step 3: Add a small triangle pointing out from the head circle for the beak. The triangle points in the direction the bird is looking.
Step 4: Add a triangle at the back of the body oval for the tail feathers. You can make one big triangle or several smaller ones fanned out.
Step 5: Add a wing on the side of the body. A wing is shaped like a long, slightly curved oval or leaf shape. It sits on the side of the body.
Step 6: Add two thin legs with three-pronged feet. Bird feet look like the letter Y with an extra toe.
Step 7: Add a dot eye and a line across the triangle beak to show where it opens.
Step 8: Color your bird! Birds come in amazing colors. A robin has a red chest and gray wings. A bluebird is bright blue. A cardinal is all red. A parrot can be rainbow colored! What kind of bird will yours be?
