Patterns Inside Shapes
Here is a fun art technique: draw a big shape (like an animal, a heart, or a star), then fill the inside with beautiful patterns!
This technique is similar to what adult artists call zentangle art, where you fill areas with repeating patterns. But you can do your own kid-friendly version!
Start by drawing a large, simple outline of something β maybe a fish, a cat, a butterfly, or even your own hand. Then divide the inside into sections with lines. Finally, fill each section with a different pattern!
Some pattern ideas for your sections: stripes, dots, zigzags, spirals, checkerboards, wavy lines, stars, hearts, circles inside circles, or any repeating design you can imagine.
When every section is filled with a different pattern, your simple outline becomes an incredibly detailed and beautiful work of art!
