Salads for Every Meal
Salads are not just for lunch! You can make a salad for any meal.
Breakfast salad: Yes, really! A bed of spinach topped with a fried or scrambled egg (ask a grown-up to cook), avocado slices, and cherry tomatoes. It is fresh, healthy, and gives you energy for the morning.
Lunch salad: The classic! Romaine lettuce with chicken, cheese, carrots, cucumbers, croutons, and your favorite dressing. Pack it in a container and keep dressing separate until you eat.
Dinner side salad: A simple green salad with 2-3 toppings served alongside your main course. Quick to make and adds vegetables to any dinner.
Fruit salad (for dessert!): Mixed berries, sliced kiwi, and orange segments on a bed of mint leaves. Drizzle with honey for a sweet ending.
Pasta salad: Cooked pasta (cooled), cherry tomatoes, olives, cheese cubes, and Italian dressing. Great for picnics and potlucks!
The world of salads is huge. Once you learn the basic technique β greens + toppings + protein + dressing β you can create hundreds of different combinations!
