Temples and Architecture

The most famous Greek building is the Parthenon, a magnificent temple built for Athena on top of the Acropolis hill in Athens. It was built about 2,500 years ago with beautiful white marble columns. Inside stood a giant gold and ivory statue of Athena that was 40 feet tall! Even though the Parthenon is in ruins today, it is still one of the most beautiful buildings ever made.
