Who Was Dr. King?

Martin Luther King Jr. was born on January 15, 1929, in Atlanta, Georgia. Even as a young boy, Martin loved words and reading. His father and grandfather were ministers at a church, and Martin grew up hearing powerful speeches. He was so smart that he skipped two grades in high school and entered college at just 15 years old! Martin grew up to become one of the most important leaders in American history.
