Dr. King's Legacy Today

Every year on the third Monday of January, the United States celebrates Martin Luther King Jr. Day. It is a national holiday honoring Dr. King's life and work. It is also a 'Day of Service,' when people are encouraged to volunteer and help others in their community. Schools, government offices, and many businesses close so people can remember Dr. King's dream.
