The Southwest Nations

The Southwest region includes deserts and canyons in present-day Arizona, New Mexico, Utah, and Colorado. The Pueblo peoples, including the Hopi and Zuni, built amazing multi-story buildings from adobe, a mixture of clay, water, and straw dried in the sun. These buildings, also called pueblos, were like ancient apartment buildings with dozens of rooms stacked on top of each other!
