Land of Rain and Fish
The Northwest Coast stretches along the Pacific Ocean from Alaska to northern California. This rainy region has thick forests of giant cedar and redwood trees. Nations like the Tlingit, Haida, and Kwakwaka'wakw lived here. The ocean and rivers were full of salmon, which was their most important food. They caught so many salmon that they dried and smoked them to eat all year long.
