Adding Weight to the Nose
What happens if you add a paper clip to the nose of your dart? The extra weight changes the balance of the plane.
Test it! Fly the dart without a paper clip three times and record the average distance. Then add a paper clip to the nose and fly it three more times.
Typical result: the paper clip plane might fly FARTHER! The extra nose weight keeps the front pointed forward instead of drifting upward. It also makes the plane fly faster because the extra mass gives it more momentum.
But too much weight and the plane nose-dives into the ground. There is a sweet spot!
