Light Test Results
Two weeks have passed! Let us check on the light experiment.
The CONTROL plant (with light) grew tall and green. Its leaves are big and healthy-looking. It is doing great!
The TEST plant (no light) looks very different. It is pale yellow or white instead of green. Its stem is long and thin, stretching out as if it is searching for light. The leaves are small. This plant is alive, but it is not healthy.
Why did this happen? Plants need light to make their food through photosynthesis. Without light, the plant cannot make food and starts to use up the energy stored in its seed. The yellow color means it is missing chlorophyll, the green substance that captures light energy.
Conclusion: Plants NEED light to grow healthy and green!
