The Engineering Design Process
Engineers do not just build something once and call it done. They follow a cycle called the engineering design process:
1. IDENTIFY the problem (dirty water needs cleaning)
2. DESIGN a solution (build a filter)
3. BUILD it (assemble the layers)
4. TEST it (pour dirty water through)
5. EVALUATE (how clear is the water?)
6. IMPROVE (make changes and try again!)
You already completed steps 1-5. Now it is time for step 6: improve! Think about what worked well and what you could change.
