Stranger Safety
A stranger is anyone you do not know. Most strangers are perfectly nice people, but since you cannot tell which strangers might not be safe, there are important rules to follow:
Never go anywhere with a stranger, even if they seem nice or say they know your parents.
Never accept gifts (candy, toys, money) from strangers.
Never get into a stranger's car, even if they say they are lost or need help. Adults should ask other adults for help, not children.
If a stranger approaches you and makes you uncomfortable, run away to a safe place (a store, a house you know, your school) and tell an adult immediately.
If someone grabs you, yell as loud as you can: 'THIS IS NOT MY PARENT! HELP!' This lets people nearby know you are in danger.
Safe strangers to approach if YOU need help: police officers in uniform, firefighters, store workers behind a counter, parents with children. But remember: YOU go to THEM β they should not be coming to you.
