A Customer Pays More
A customer buys a small lemonade for 25¢ and pays with 2 quarters (50¢). How much change?
50 - 25 = 25 cents change. Kai gives back 1 quarter!
Another customer buys a cookie for 10¢ and pays with a quarter (25¢). Change: 25 - 10 = 15 cents. That's a dime and a nickel!
Making change means: PAYMENT - PRICE = CHANGE. The customer gets the difference back.
**Think About It:** If you ever get confused, count UP from the price to the payment: 10...15...20...25. That's 15¢ change!
