Getting Ready to Perform
You wrote a complete song with verses, a chorus, and a hook. Now it is time to PERFORM it! Performing means sharing your song with an audience, whether it is your family, your class, your friends, or even just your stuffed animals.
Before you perform, rehearse:
Sing through the whole song three times from memory.
Decide where to be loud (chorus) and where to be soft (verse).
Plan any actions, movements, or sound effects.
Practice your beginning (the intro) and your ending (the final hook).
Set up your stage:
Stand in front of your audience.
If you have a song sheet, hold it where you can see it but your face is still visible.
Take a deep belly breath.
Smile! Even if you feel nervous.
