The Tortoise and the Hare

Hare was the fastest animal in the forest. He loved to brag! 'Nobody can beat me!' he said. Tortoise was slow and steady. One day, Tortoise said, 'I will race you, Hare.' Everyone laughed. How could slow Tortoise beat fast Hare? The race began. Hare zoomed ahead! He was so far in front that he decided to take a nap under a tree. 'Tortoise is so slow, I have plenty of time,' he thought. But Tortoise kept walking. Step by step, he passed the sleeping Hare. When Hare woke up, he saw Tortoise near the finish line! Hare ran as fast as he could, but it was too late. Tortoise crossed the finish line first! 'Slow and steady wins the race,' said Tortoise with a smile.
