Story: The Ant and the Grasshopper
All summer long, Ant worked hard. She carried food to her home, piece by piece. 'Come play with me!' said Grasshopper. 'I can't,' said Ant. 'I need to save food for winter.' Grasshopper laughed. 'Winter is far away! Let's sing and dance!' All summer, Grasshopper played and sang while Ant worked. Then winter came. Snow covered the ground. There was no food anywhere. Ant was warm in her home with plenty to eat. Grasshopper was cold and hungry. He knocked on Ant's door. 'Please, can I have some food?' Ant shared her food, but said, 'Next summer, work before you play.' Grasshopper nodded. 'I will,' he promised. 'I've learned my lesson.'
