The Boy Who Cried Wolf

A shepherd boy watched sheep on a hill. It was boring! So he decided to play a trick. 'Wolf! Wolf!' he cried. The villagers ran up the hill to help. But there was no wolf! The boy laughed. The villagers were angry. The next day, the boy did it again. 'Wolf! Wolf!' The villagers ran up again. No wolf! The boy laughed again. The villagers were very upset. Then one day, a REAL wolf came! 'Wolf! Wolf!' the boy cried. But this time, no one came. 'He's lying again,' they said. The wolf scared away all the sheep. The boy was sad and sorry. He learned that when you lie, people stop believing you — even when you tell the truth.
