Our Solar System

Our solar system is like a big family in space. The Sun is at the center. It is a giant ball of burning gas that gives us light and heat. Eight planets orbit the Sun. They travel around it in big circles called orbits. The planets in order are: Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, and Neptune. Mercury is closest to the Sun and is very hot. Neptune is farthest away and very cold. Earth is the only planet we know of that has life! Jupiter is the biggest planet. Saturn has beautiful rings made of ice and rock. Each planet is unique and special.
