Soft Surfaces and Hot Metal

Playgrounds have rubber mulch, wood chips, sand, or rubber mats under equipment for a reason. If you fall, soft surfaces cushion your landing and prevent broken bones. Hard surfaces like concrete and asphalt are dangerous under playground equipment.
