Rocks Keep Changing!
Here is something amazing: rocks do not stay the same forever! They slowly change from one type to another. This is called the 'rock cycle.' An igneous rock on the surface can get worn down by wind and rain into tiny pieces. Those pieces pile up and form sedimentary rock. That sedimentary rock can get pushed deep underground where heat and pressure turn it into metamorphic rock. If it melts completely, it becomes magma and can cool into igneous rock again!
