Comparing Sun, Earth, and Moon

The sun is ENORMOUS compared to Earth and the moon! If the sun were a basketball, the Earth would be a tiny bead about 2 millimeters across. The moon would be even tinier! The sun is so big that about 1.3 MILLION Earths could fit inside it. The moon is much smaller than Earth — about 50 moons could fit inside Earth. But the sun LOOKS the same size as the moon in our sky because the sun is so far away!
