The Insect Body
Every insect has exactly THREE body parts: the head, the thorax (middle), and the abdomen (back). The head has the eyes, antennae, and mouth. The thorax is like the engine room β all SIX legs are attached here! Most flying insects also have wings on the thorax. The abdomen is the biggest part and holds the stomach and other organs. If it has three body parts and six legs β it is an insect!
