What Is a Lever?

A lever is one of the simplest machines in the world! It is just a bar that rests on a point. That is it! When you push down on one end of the bar, the other end goes up. You use levers every day without even knowing it. A seesaw at the playground is a lever! When your friend pushes down on one side, you go up on the other side. Levers help us lift heavy things with less effort.
