Volume — Loud and Quiet

Volume is how LOUD or QUIET a sound is. A whisper is quiet. A shout is loud! A pin dropping is very quiet. A fire truck siren is very loud. We can change volume — you can talk quietly in a library or cheer loudly at a game. Volume is different from pitch. A bird can chirp quietly (low volume, high pitch) or loudly (high volume, high pitch). Volume and pitch are separate!
