Three States Compared
Let's compare! SOLID ICE: has a definite shape, hard, cold, molecules locked in place. LIQUID WATER: takes the shape of its container, flows and pours, molecules slide past each other. GAS (WATER VAPOR): no shape, invisible, fills any space, molecules zoom around freely. The only difference between them is TEMPERATURE. Add heat: solid becomes liquid becomes gas. Remove heat: gas becomes liquid becomes solid. Same water, different states!
