What Are Consonant Blends?

A consonant blend is when two consonant letters sit next to each other and you hear BOTH sounds. In FROG, the F and R blend together: /fr/. You hear both the /f/ and the /r/. This is different from a digraph where two letters make one sound (like SH). In a blend, each letter keeps its own sound.
