Two Letters, One Sound
A digraph is when two letters team up to make ONE new sound. SH makes /sh/ β that's different from /s/ and /h/ said separately. CH makes /ch/. TH makes /th/. WH makes /w/ (or /wh/). NG makes /ng/. Unlike blends where you hear both sounds, in a digraph you hear just one brand-new sound.
