Brazil β Stars and a Globe!
Brazil's flag is one of the most unique in the world! It has a green background with a large yellow diamond shape in the center. Inside the diamond is a dark blue circle with white stars and a curved white band.
The GREEN represents Brazil's lush forests (including the Amazon rainforest!). The YELLOW represents Brazil's wealth and gold. The BLUE circle represents the sky over Rio de Janeiro on November 15, 1889 β the day Brazil became a republic. The 27 STARS represent Brazil's 26 states plus the Federal District.
Across the blue circle is a white banner with the motto 'ORDEM E PROGRESSO' β which means 'Order and Progress' in Portuguese (Brazil's language).
Brazil is the largest country in South America and the 5th largest in the world!
