The Closing
The closing is how you say goodbye in your letter. It is a short, kind phrase followed by a comma. Here are some great closings:
For family:
- Love,
- With love,
- Hugs and kisses,
- Miss you lots,
For friends:
- Your friend,
- Your buddy,
- Your pal,
- See you soon,
For teachers or adults you respect:
- Sincerely,
- Thank you,
- With gratitude,
- Respectfully,
Rules for closings:
- Only capitalize the FIRST word (Love, not Love You — unless it is 'Love' alone)
- Always end with a comma
- Write it on its own line, below the body
- Choose a closing that matches how you feel about the person
