Feeling Words
Your journal is the perfect place to explore your feelings. But to write about feelings, you need feeling WORDS! Here are lots of them:
Happy feelings: happy, joyful, excited, proud, grateful, cheerful, delighted, thrilled, peaceful, content, loved
Sad feelings: sad, disappointed, lonely, homesick, gloomy, upset, heartbroken, blue
Angry feelings: angry, frustrated, annoyed, furious, grumpy, irritated
Scared feelings: scared, worried, nervous, anxious, frightened, uneasy
Surprised feelings: surprised, amazed, shocked, stunned, astonished
The more specific your feeling word, the better your journal entry. Instead of just 'happy,' try 'thrilled' or 'proud' or 'grateful.' Each one tells a slightly different story!
'I was happy' is okay.
'I was thrilled and could not stop smiling' is MUCH better!
