Dian Fossey β Gorillas in the Mist
Dian Fossey was an American scientist who devoted her life to studying and protecting mountain gorillas in Rwanda. She lived among them for 18 years, earning their trust by imitating their behaviors β she would sit quietly, make gentle gorilla sounds, and even pretend to munch on plants. The gorillas eventually accepted her! Her work showed the world that gorillas are gentle, intelligent, family-loving animals β not the scary monsters portrayed in movies. Her book 'Gorillas in the Mist' made people care about saving gorillas.
