Sharks Are Not Scary — They Need Our Help

Sharks are APEX PREDATORS — they sit at the top of the ocean food chain. Without sharks, the whole ocean ecosystem falls apart! Sharks keep fish populations healthy by eating sick and weak individuals. They prevent any one species from taking over. In areas where sharks have been removed, other predator fish populations exploded, which ate all the small fish, which let algae grow out of control, which smothered coral reefs. Removing sharks causes a chain reaction of problems through the whole ocean!
