Your Own Abstract Style
You have learned three amazing abstract art styles. Now it is time to create YOUR OWN abstract art! You can:
Option 1: Pick your favorite style and create a new painting in that style. Love Mondrian? Make another grid painting with different proportions. Love Pollock? Go bigger and wilder with more colors. Love Kandinsky? Make circles and shapes dance across your canvas.
Option 2: MIX the styles! What if you combined Mondrian's grid with Pollock's splatters? Draw a grid of black lines, but instead of filling rectangles with solid color, fill them with drips and splatters! Or combine Kandinsky's shapes with Pollock's energy β floating circles and triangles made of dripped paint.
Option 3: Invent your OWN abstract style! Maybe your style uses only curved lines and warm colors. Maybe you create abstract art using only dots. Maybe your style uses one shape repeated hundreds of times in different sizes and colors.
Before you paint, decide: what FEELING do you want your art to express? Happy? Excited? Calm? Mysterious? Powerful? Choose colors and shapes that match that feeling.
