Skyscrapers and Tall Buildings
Skyscrapers are TALL buildings found in big cities. Drawing them is simple β they are basically very tall, narrow rectangles!
Step 1: draw a tall, narrow rectangle. Much taller than it is wide! Skyscrapers can be 50, 80, or even 100+ stories tall.
Step 2: add LOTS of windows. Skyscrapers have rows and rows of identical windows. Draw a grid of small squares or rectangles across the face of the building. Each row represents one floor.
Step 3: add the top. Skyscrapers have different tops:
Flat top: just a straight line across the top. Simple and modern.
Pointed top: a triangle or pyramid on top, like the Transamerica building.
Antenna: a thin line sticking up from the top, like a TV antenna or a spire.
Setback: the building gets narrower in steps as it goes up, like a wedding cake.
Step 4: add the entrance. Draw a larger rectangle at the bottom for the lobby entrance. Maybe add a canopy or awning over the door.
Step 5: add a ground floor. The ground floor of a skyscraper often looks different β it might have bigger windows, columns, or a revolving door.
Try drawing three skyscrapers of different heights next to each other for a mini skyline!
