Designing Your Dream City
For your final project, you are going to design and draw your very own dream city! This is not a real city — it is YOUR imaginary city with any buildings you want.
What buildings will be in your city?
Houses and apartments where people live
Skyscrapers for offices and businesses
A school for kids
A fire station and a hospital
Shops and restaurants
A library, a museum, or a theater
A castle, a lighthouse, or a cathedral — why not?
A space station or a treehouse — it is YOUR dream city!
Before you draw, plan your layout:
What goes in the foreground (close to the viewer)?
What goes in the middle ground?
What goes in the background?
Where is the road or path?
What time of day is it? (sunrise, daytime, sunset, night)
Sketch a rough plan on scratch paper first. Decide where each building goes. Mix different sizes and types for an interesting skyline.
