What Is Composition?
Composition is how you arrange the pieces in your artwork. It is like setting up furniture in a room β WHERE you put things matters just as much as WHAT you put!
A good composition feels balanced and interesting. Your eyes can move around the whole artwork without getting stuck in one spot or feeling like one side is too heavy.
Three rules for good composition:
1. Balance: Spread your pieces around so the artwork does not feel lopsided. If you have something big on the left, put something on the right to balance it out.
2. Focal point: Every artwork needs one main thing that catches your eye first. This is your focal point. Make it bigger, brighter, or more detailed than everything else.
3. Variety: Use pieces that are different sizes (big, medium, and small), different shapes, and different colors. Too many same-sized pieces looks boring. Variety keeps things interesting!
