Perfect Oatmeal
Oatmeal is one of the healthiest breakfasts you can eat! It is a whole grain packed with fiber that keeps you full for hours.
Stovetop oatmeal recipe (with adult help):
- 1 cup water or milk (milk makes it creamier)
- 1/2 cup rolled oats
- Pinch of salt
Steps:
1. Grown-up brings liquid to a boil in a small pot
2. Add oats and salt, stir
3. Reduce heat to low
4. Cook for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally
5. Remove from heat and let sit for 1 minute
Microwave oatmeal (faster!):
- Mix 1/2 cup oats + 1 cup water in a microwave-safe bowl
- Microwave 2 minutes, stir, microwave 1 more minute
- Let sit 1 minute before eating (it is HOT!)
Now add your toppings! The toppings are what make oatmeal exciting.
