Safety Rules
Boiling water is 212 degrees F β hot enough to cause serious burns instantly. ALWAYS have a grown-up present! Rules: a grown-up handles all hot water. Stand back from boiling pots. Turn pot handles toward the back of the stove. Never leave boiling water unattended. Keep towels and plastic away from burners. Use oven mitts for hot surfaces.
What YOU can safely do: measure dry pasta, set a timer, prepare sauce, set the table, and help drain pasta while an adult handles the heavy hot pot.
