The Japanese Kimono
The kimono is Japan's most famous traditional garment. The word 'kimono' literally means 'thing to wear.' It is a long, T-shaped robe with wide sleeves, wrapped left over right and tied with a wide belt called an obi. Kimonos are made from beautiful silk with stunning patterns of flowers, birds, and geometric designs. Different colors and patterns are worn for different seasons and occasions.
