Heavy for Its Size
Imagine holding a golf ball in one hand and a ping pong ball in the other. They are about the same SIZE, but the golf ball is much HEAVIER. We say the golf ball has more density.
Density means how much stuff is packed into a space. Dense things have lots of material packed tightly together. Less dense things have material spread out loosely.
Liquids have density too! Some liquids are denser than others. Have you ever noticed that oil floats on top of water? That is because oil is LESS dense than water. And honey sinks to the bottom of water because honey is MORE dense than water.
Today you are going to stack three liquids on top of each other to create a density tower!
