Build and Erupt!

Step 1: Place a small bottle or cup on a tray (to catch the overflow!).

Step 2: If you want, mold clay or playdough around the bottle to make it look like a mountain.

Step 3: Add 2 tablespoons of baking soda to the bottle.

Step 4: Add a squirt of dish soap (this makes the foam foamier!).

Step 5: Add a few drops of red and yellow food coloring (to look like lava!).

Your volcano is ready. The baking soda is waiting inside the magma chamber. All you need now is the vinegar to start the reaction!
