The Scientific Method
Every great scientist uses the same basic method:
1. OBSERVE: Notice something interesting. Einstein noticed compasses. Curie noticed glowing minerals.
2. QUESTION: Ask why or how. Why does the compass point north? Why does this rock glow?
3. HYPOTHESIZE: Make a guess (an educated prediction). I think the rock glows because it contains a special element.
4. EXPERIMENT: Test your hypothesis. Set up a fair test where you change only ONE thing.
5. ANALYZE: Look at your results. Was your hypothesis right or wrong?
6. SHARE: Tell others what you found! Science is about sharing knowledge.
You use this method more than you think! When you taste a new food and decide if you like it, you are being a scientist!
