Be a Food Explorer!
A food explorer is someone who tries new foods with curiosity and an open mind. Here is how to be one:
The 'Three Bite Rule': When trying a new food, take at least three bites before deciding if you like it. The first bite is surprising. The second, your mouth adjusts. By the third, you know if you actually like it. Many people discover their favorite foods on the third bite!
Start with familiar ingredients: If you like chicken, try chicken teriyaki (Japanese), chicken tikka masala (Indian), or chicken mole (Mexican). Same protein, completely different flavors!
Visit ethnic restaurants: Many cities have restaurants from dozens of countries. Pick one you have never tried!
Cook world food at home: With a grown-up, try a simple recipe from another country. Making the food yourself helps you appreciate the culture.
Ask questions: If you eat at a restaurant with food from another country, ask the server to explain dishes. Most people LOVE sharing their food culture!
Remember: not liking a food is okay! The goal is to TRY, not to like everything. You might dislike sushi but love samosas. The world has infinite options!
